HI Diana, thanks for reading along. You may want to invest in a heavy-duty cotton watercolor paper to absorb the water better. If you have too much and too little water, you need to practice more often to get the hang of your materials. I always activate each color before painting so I know they are ready to mix.
Really good article and lots of great advice. Just wanted to mention that cold pressed paper has texture and hot pressed is smooth, not the other way around as mentioned. Hope you don’t mind me mentioning. I love watercolour and in particular ink drawing with watercolour
